Cutting the bowlines – 2nd June 2016

Inspired by Mark Twain’s quote

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you did not do than by the once you did do. So throw off your bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails.

Explore. Dream. Discover.”

we cut the bowlines on 2nd June and are now venturing north towards the arctic waters of Norway. The plan towards the end of the year is to explore what has been denoted as one of the most wonderful coastlines in the world – Helgelandskysten – and savour Lofoten. When we turn the page on 2017, Iris will most likely be based in Tromsø – the world northern most city.

Thank you to all that came to see us off and for the presents and warm word offered. At least for me it was a moment filled with lots of emotions – and grattitude.

Hello crew of Iris.
What a nice and funny blog, what a beautiful Koopmans. I sold my Koopmans 44 PH CB last April afther sailing her for 25 years. But life without my Koopmans is not what I expected.
So now I am searching a Koopmans like yours. Hard to find. Maybe you know one.
Best regards
Wilma
